Frequently asked questions

Can I register a .cn domain without a Chinese entity?

Yes. Foreign individuals and foreign entities can register .cn domains since CNNIC opened that policy. You need a passport or apostilled certificate of incorporation.

How long does CNNIC real-name verification take?

3-7 business days for foreign documents, 1-3 days for mainland-entity documents. Foreign passports submitted as PDF scans go through manual review.

Will my .cn domain be suspended if real-name fails?

Yes. CNNIC gives 15 days for resubmission. After that the domain is parked and cannot be transferred. Resolution requires manual escalation.

What does this cost?

The quoted-pricing tile on the parent service page lists current per-filing fees. We update these annually and stamp the last-reviewed date on every page.
