Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Chinese passport or co-founder to set up here?
No. A WFOE (Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise) gives one foreign shareholder 100% ownership. You will need a legal representative on the entity, but that role can be filled by you, an existing employee, or a nominee.
Is chinaonramp a Chinese company or a foreign broker?
Mike is a foreign solo broker operating on your side of the wall. The actual filings are executed by named Chinese partner firms in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing whose track records are listed on each service page.
Do you charge a retainer?
No. Every service has a quoted per-filing fee. You pay only for the filings you commission. Compliance work after entity setup is monthly, also quoted upfront.
How fast can I be selling, hiring, or invoicing in China?
Selling via Tmall Global with an HK-Ltd structure: 6-10 weeks. Hiring via a WFOE: 10-16 weeks once registered capital wires in. Invoicing in RMB (issuing fapiao): immediate after general-taxpayer status, usually 2-3 weeks post-WFOE.
Who actually does the work?
A named partner firm in Shanghai, Shenzhen, or Beijing executes the filing. Mike brokers the engagement, holds the timeline, and intervenes if the partner stalls. You can see partner names on each service page.
How long does this typically take?
It depends on the filing and the city. Each service page publishes a realistic end-to-end timeline with both best-case and worst-case ranges. We never quote 'fastest possible' to win an engagement.
What if my filing is rejected?
Rejection is common on first submission. The brokerage fee covers one resubmission cycle. If a rejection is the partner firm's error, the partner re-files at no extra charge.
